We decided that it might be time to start potty training. When i ask kennady if she wants to go potty in the toilet she runs into the bathroom, totally ready right? At the very least i think its time that she is aware of her own potty and that what goes in her diaper is funny and yucky. So we went to babies r us and purchased a potty that has a little sensor in it, so when she tinkles it cheers for her. However, she has yet to tinkle. she is really good at sitting on it and talking to you about what she thinks she supposed to do on it, but so far no tinkle. also, very good at getting the tinkle cup out of the potty and putting it on her head. good thing there hasnt been any tinkle yet.
I went to Barnes and Noble to find a potty training book and ended up in the kids section in front of the board books instead of the parenting section. She absolutely loves books. She totes books around more than baby dolls. books and balls. thats all she ever wants. she makes me such a proud mommy. i love her so much.
My biggest lesson with this whole potty training thing, is that even with all the advice in the world sometimes its best just to do what you think will work. In life, and in parenting. People have told me that it might be too soon for potty time, but here we are... with bare bums on a little cheering potty seat. Just like so many other descions i have made along the way in my life. Hopefully i dont make as many big mistakes with parenting, but we'll get there one way or another. As a family.
